    paying the lawyer

sorry for sounding so stupid but we just recently decided to file and are in the process of showing monthly expenses and getting our receipts together so we can file before they start garnishing hubbys check. the thing is we need 1 months worth of receipts and also have to pay 750.00 to the lawyer. can i use some of those receipts too

We had to give 2 months of utilities and such to the attny when we were doing our pre filig docs gathering.

Our attny's payment wasn't even included in our bills during discussions.

Part of the bk petition is a disclosure of the attorney fees. The attorney has to state how much they were paid and if they are planning on sharing the money with anybody.

Plus, I don't see any reason why you cannot show them receipts.

If you work out a payment plan with the lawyer, can't you included that on your expense schedule?

Not sure about this, unless its in a Chapter 13, and yes it would be an expense..... but allowed on the expense schedule..............????????????????????
Maybe someone else has some input here....
