lawyer trouble
My bankruptcy lawyer has just been suspended indefinetely this month pending a formal investigation due to evidence of "misappropriated client funds for his own use". I have been unable to reach anyone at his office. He practices by himself (no other lawyers work at his office). I just went to my court hearing for my chapter 7 bankruptcy in December, and now I am unsure what the status of my case is. I was told at the hearing that my case should be done by mid-February. How would I go about finding this out? Also I still owe this lawyer money due to a payment plan arrangement. Should I just stop paying him? Thanks for the help.
