How can I figure out if I will qualify for Chapter 7? I am divorcing. At the moment I make $65,000 a year in CA. I will be moving overseas and will not be working for at least three months. I will be filing BK after the three months. My house forcloure is the only debt I will have...between $50,000 and $100,000 negative balance. I will have about $20,000 cash. I am assuming that they will take my cash but I will not have any money to pay chapter 13. Can someone please help me. Thank you.

Here's the means test form and the other link are the amounts you may deduct for the test as well as your health insurance, court ordered payments, etc. Don't worry about 65k being too high. I've been to California and lived there for a while and understand 65k is peanuts for most of your state especially San Francisco. I've seen 80k income earners under new law pass the means test.
