    surprise to me

Hi Guys its me agagin (need help) with yet another question:
I was getting my credit reports together today and noticed there was a credit card listed that my mom filled out for and is paying.
When she got this card she added my name to it in case she needed me to use it for her.
My question is how am I suppose to list it as one of my creditors when it is not
    any help would be appreciated.

PS on the report it states--Joint with( then my moms name)

If you are a authorized user which it sounds like you are.. You need not list it on your BK papers. You are 100% not responsible for the debt as a authorized user no matter what credit card it is.. Household and capital one does this as well with authorized users listed the account on their credit reports.. It is a great way to get a good standing credit account listed to your credit file after you file for BK... For now.. Have your mother remove you as a authorized user.. After your BK have her add you again..

Also, AMEX absolutely will come after an authorized user. Been there, done that!

Good info.. Just find it humorous.. I need nothing more then your b-day and SSN number to add you as a authorized user..While it may say authorized users are responsible for payment in the small print.. They would never be able to collect the debt..as the authorized user never signed that agreement only the original credit holder... So there defense of saying it says so in the fine print is all fine and dandy.. But in court would not hold up.. as the authorized user never promised to pay back anything or signed any contract with said creditor..

Sorry I missed the part about joint account.. In this case.. Your mom needs to either close the account or if possible remove your name from the account.. More then likely she will have to close that account and open a new one under her name only..as the credit limit was based on both yours and hers credit scores..

If you are an authorized user and not a joint, I really do not think you CAN list it as a debt. It is not a debt that can be discharged in your case because it is not yours; you are not responsible for it. A joint cardholder, however, is equally responsible for the debt. It should tell you if you are an auth user or joint on your credit report. Or if it gives codes, a "3" means auth user and "2" means joint. At the bank I work for, we don't even need a SSN or birthdate for an auth user, only first and last name to put on the card.
