Question about Schedule B

The instructions at the top of Schedule B seem ambiguous to me. What does this mean: "...state the amount of any exemptions claimed only in Schedule C--Property Claimed as Exempt" ? Does this mean that if I want my clothing or library or car to be exempt I should not list it on Schedule B? Or I should list it but not put the value? Or I should just list the item and the value but not add anything about what portion is exempt?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you list the item and value without regard to exempt status and then on schedule C list the item if you claim an exemption.
