I pulled my credit reports from all 3 agencies yesterday (ouch). What a confusing mess! My First Card went through so many banks until it's now Chase that it looks like I had 10 credit cards with them and I only had 1!
Anyway, I have a bunch of items (usually medical bills) that went to collection and then I paid them off. Some as small as $40. It is worth it to try to get them off the report? Am I better with a phone call or a letter? If so, any sample conversation or letter ideas?
(Note: I know on some of these I agreed to pay and they said they'd remove the item, but at that time I didn't keep good records and was more financially stable and didn't really worry about these things. Ah, the days of FICO scores in the 700s)
