What happens to FICO after discharge?

My credit scores are as follows : 497, 486, 472. My 341 is in 3 weeks and im expecting a discharge within the next month or two.

My attorney told me that my credit score would drop immediately 200 pts once my discharge went through. Is this true? If so, would that not be impossible for me, considering scores only range from 300 and up? I think with a lot of hard work, I can build my credit to the mid 600's from where I'm at now, within two years or so. But starting from the 300 bare minimum...well that's got me scared.

So, what did your score drop to after BK?

    Thanks,
    Adam

My score dropped 200 points right away when I filed BK. It has come up 100 points since then and I have not even went to my 341 meeting. Seems everytime a creditor goes in and zero's my credit balance out, my score goes up. However, with that said, some of my creditors are still reporting open, always pay on time. When those go away, I figure I'll drop back down a 100 points or so.

I don't think that is true. The damage is already done-the bankruptcy filing put the public record on your credit. As time goes on, it will get better. Assuming, of course, that you have no after bankruptcy lates or issues.

I think the score drop all depends on where you are. If someone is current on everything up to the point of filing, they will see more of a drop than someone who is past due/overlimit, etc. A year ago, my scores were all around the mid to high 400's I believe. Couldn't get much worse! I have been able to 'grow' them to the mid 600's.

My score was so low when I filed bk I didn't check it but I do know that it did increase 100 points from my pre bk scores. I really ended up in a better situation after bk.

I am in a chapter 13 and I was in the mid 400's...like 450 or so when I filed. I am 16 months into the chapter 13 and simply by doing nothing, just paying the 13 on time, my scores are now 480,507 and 611.
I pulled all my reports and found that some were reporting incorrectly and still reporting lates, so I have disputed those. Hopefully, my scores will jump another 100 points over the next year or so.

How do you find out your scores all the time? Is there a website that has them available for a subscription fee or do you have to pay everytime you want to check your score? Same question for the credit report. I know you can get it free by calling them, but I don't want it on my credit report that I keep checking, I thought that was bad?
