How long after tax return is sent to trustee for case to close?

    Hi,
Just wondering if any of you have had experience with your tax returns being taken this year and how long afterwards it takes until case closes. We received our portion of the refund from the trustee yesterday, and the new entry in Pacer says for the court clerk to issue proof of claims to creditors.

Wondering how long this whole process takes? We are now in day 234, and I am sooo tired of the whole ordeal. What a journey it has been.

I would imagine 60 days at most and you should be done. Probably less, but trustee takes there own sweet time when it comes to sending the creditors money.

      I am in this position....almost

Filed return before April 15, will send refund check to trustee after I receive it and then I'll be in the final holding pattern...which may be another 60 days...

Man, I can't even count backwards like all of you do to figure out what the hell day it is that I'm on with this nonsensical idiotic wonderful relief of stress & pressure called "Discharged...to some extent"...

But, I can't complain about what number day I'm on...Look at our wonderful Minny...She is number #1 on this board & with all her help!!!!

No reason for me to complain about my wait....

The newest post in Pacer system says three months! Now that the case is an asset case creditors have nintey days to claim whats left of the paltry tax refund. Trustee took 600.00, our portion was 728.00 leaving around 1700.00 for creditors to claim. Wonder how much the attorney got?

So if my case is an asset case...

which I think is due to the refund?....after the trustee takes his cut...then are any of my creditors likely to go after what's left??? I thought I might do some hose/tire work on the 4runner...if I still have it?!

Trustee can only take a portion of your income tax depending on when you filed.... you might even get a little bit back from him......

If the creditors didn't file a claim, they don't get any of the pie!!!
