Discharge, now what???
So, I am just wondering, we received notification of our discharge in July but really received no specifics as to what was discharged. The form looks like a generic form saying our case was discharged but remarks in there that this does not specify if the trustee will pay out money. We forfeited no property and reaffirmed our student loans, car loan and mortgage and have continued payments on these. I guess I'm just wondering if we were supposed to receive anything else or would the court have notified us if there was anything that was going to be paid out or had to be surrendered? Also, does our bk influence our tax return this year?

Any debt you listed in your Schedules that was not reaffirmed or was not dischargable (i.e. student loan) is now discharged so you don't owe any of those creditors.

You may have to provide the Trustee with a copy of your 2004 Tax Returns when you complete them, the trustee should have informed you of this at the 341 creditors meeting.Comment

I don't remember him saying anything about that. He asked if we had filed our 2003, which we had and had already received our refund but that's all I can remember. Do you think it is something I should check out somewhere? And if so, where would I check this out? Thank you again for your advice. I appreciate it so much.Comment

If you had an attorney, you should ask him/her, or you could call the Trustee's Office directly.Comment
