    I know a cheaper place

I just did my pre-discharge counseling this week. Coughing up another $50 like I did prior to filing was just a bit too much. I tried Hummingbird which offers it for $19 a person. It's $8 in NC or AL. I watched a video online and they want you to review the online workbook(free) which repeats the same info. Throughout the video you need to write down the 5 secret words that appear across the screen. This is so that you can prove that you watched the video before taking the test. The test consists of 15 true/false questions that come from the video and/or workbook and some questions were just common sense. I scored 15 out of 15. You have an option if not using an atty to mail the payment - certified check or money order along with an application or paying online by paypal. I wanted it quick so I used paypal and the next day Hummingbird emailed my certificate via a PDF file.

I feel that I really didn't learn anything extroadinarily new through the counseling. Through my journey of pre-bk to now, I've learned alot about financial decisions so that I don't fall into the trap. I am so glad I only paid $19 instead of $50. It was just like when I did the pre-bk counseling - just another expense for which I knew the obvious. But what can you do, these are the laws.

Amen to that... Waste of money! People file because they have no money, right?

I got 100% on all the pre-tsests and a 97% on the final. I missed 2 questions I should have had 100% on the final to. Oh well moving on...

Do you have to pay when you file the certificate with the court?

Can somebody please answer my question?

I know that you have to pay to get the post bankruptcy certificate. I already have it, but to FILE it with the court do you have to pay again or just drop it with the clerk?

If you filed thru an attny, have the agency send the Cert or take it to your attny. The attny will file it with the Court.

If you filed Pro Se, you'll need to file a copy of the Cert with the Clerk of the Court.

I have seen no mention of a fee to file either the pre BK Cert or the Post BK Debtor Education Course completion Cert.
