If anyone has this problem...I couldn't find thread I started so here goes again, with updated information.
I spoke with my bk attorney yesterday. I have received my 2005 Refund check which the FL trustee has requested; after he receives it, my case "should be" closed.
However, I may have a tax debt of $6,900 for 2004 due to some $ I withdrew from my IRA...bad girl I know...hey but rent had to get paid.
So, my attorney said to send the refund check to the trustee. Then, send a letter to the IRS with a copy of the refund check and ask them to file tax liability proof of claim. Then, they will contact the trustee who will have to send them the check if necessary and that will cut my tax bill in half.
God this is all such a drawn out process. I will try to maintain my sanity till it's over...it's amazing I'm not totally insane by now...
