Keep non reaffirmed car? Does it do me any good?

    Question,
I have a car I bought in September 2005 and my wife and I filed CH7 in Oct before new laws. We received our discharge in Jan 2006. I tried to reaffirm the car but they would not. With that being said, should I keep the car or give it back.

With it showing up a discharge CH7 on my credit should I keep making the payments or give it back? Does my ontime payments help me or are they a waste because of the way the loan is stated on my credit report?

And, if I return it, will it hurt me credit wise?

Anyone out ther with an answer please send it to me soon.

    ok,
As long as your DID NOT SIGN A REAFFIRM with the auto company this debt has been discharged in your bankrutpcy......

You can keep the auto and stay current on payments at all times (or they will repo it)..... These payments will not be reflected on your credit score as timely payments since the debt was discharged.

You can all them, surrender the auto and owe nothing else on it.......

If you are upside down on the auto - owe a lot more than its worth - then you have the option of surrendering it and getting out of owing anything else towards it.

    The options are yours.....

On your credit report it should say included in bankruptcy.....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
