    Cleaning up credit report

I am new to this forum...recently my husband and I completed our Chapter 13 plan. We are still waiting on the official discharge but in the meantime I thought I'd start reviewing our credit reports so we could get those cleaned up. And I have a few questions....

We filed our Chapter 13 plan in May of 2003 and we completed it April of 2006

I have 3 accounts that were included in our bankruptcy plan that I am not sure are being reported correctly.

Capital One: Says [B]Account Closed at Credit Grantor's request[B]. I think that is probably okay but then is also shows [B]Status: Petition for Ch 13 Bankruptcy/Past due. $7,438. written off. $6,287 past due as of May 2006.[B] It also says I filed bankruptcy on July 31, 2003. Which is not true, it was May of 2003.

First Premier Bank: [B]Status: Petition for Ch 13 bankruptcy/never late. $458 written off. $345 past due as of May 2006. Recent Balance: $345 as of May 2006. Account History: Filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy on June 4, 2003.[B] Which again the filing date I know is wrong.

Pier 1: This account shows a $0 balance...and for the status says [B]Discharged through Bankruptcy Chapter 13/ Past due 30 days.[B] I wasn't sure if that is an okay statement.

On my husbands credit report he has several that are listed as Wage Earner Plan These are accounts that were included in our bankruptcy. The comments section on these accounts say Account involved in Chapter 13 debt adj. And all of these accounts show a balance due.

So I guess I am wondering if these are accounts that I can legitimately dispute?

Until you get your official discharge, you credit report will not update saying Chapter 13 plan completed.... paid as agreed...

Yes you do need to dispute the dates, the dollar amounts written off and the dollar amounts you paid on the account in the Chapter 13....

But none of this can be corrected until after you are discharged.......

So be patient, make notes of what needs to be fixed and be ready to get started on it....

Congrads on completing your Chapter 13..... not many do.............

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
