Off the Wall Question -- Moving Fees

Besides having the rest of my family find out about my BK, the thought of losing my house scares the heck out of me. The other part is the actual logistics of packing and moving (and I won't even go into finding a new place.)

I cannot pack stuff up myself--I can't lift over 25 pounds due to my back. My sister is disabled, so no help there; her husband is physically okay, but let's put him in the category of "no help there" also. My mom and dad are in late 60s: dad has serious back problems, and my mom shouldn't do much physically also.

My crazy question: Can I include the cost of packing and getting the house ready of viewing and deduct them from the value of the house?

I doubt it, but if you plan ahead, I'm sure it will work out for you. Lots of guys in many neighborhoods will work for beer and pizza.

I honestly really don't know anyone in my neighborhood. We are a commuter community--everyone just sleeps there and travels to work at least 30 miles.

I guess it would be, once again, borrow the money from parents and pay them back when I got my check for my homestead exemption amount--I forgot all about the homestead exemption when I asked this last night.
