    Disney & Pixar "Cars"

WOW! Awesome film! I own a little (1.5 acre) tract right on I-40 in Holbrook, AZ, which, basically was the films desert location. Everything in the film is near Holbrook, the petrrified forest, the Wigwam (Cone) Hotel, mountains to the south. I recognized it down to the neon. And basically it is a neat (but HOT and DRY) area where pieces of old route 66 can still be found. Fun to drive through.

Take your kids to this film, my 16 year old and i went to see it and absolutely loved it. Great, great film. the scenery is absolutely magnificent. I will say, better than Shrek 1 or 2. PLEASE MAKE MORE! Barnyard looks like it will be good also!

I've been wanting to see that. I love the CGI (Toy Story, Robots, etc)

Is it appropriate for a 5 year old?

Oh my gosh..it is such a cute movie!!! Of course it really appealed to
my house being all boys (hubby, 5yr & 10yr)...lol We saw it on the big Ultra screen which
is bigger that the IMAX we saw Harry potter on. It was very cute story
line about "It's not the big race that counts, It's all the people you
meet and treat on the way" I liked it!!! For Matthew's birthday (end
of June) we will get some of the guys, and of course we had to stop at
Mickey D's...the happy meal toys are the Cars characters.
Anyways..I would defiantly recommend it, and even the little ones....age 2yrs sat thru it without a peep.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll hopefully take the 5-year old, but I don't think the 2-year old's attention span is long enough quite yet (although he is a very good well behaved boy.)

Then I'd bring another adult just in case I would need to take him for a walk or something. He's pretty good about playing with one toy for a long time--it could be time for his first movie.

All ages, a great, great film, wonderfully done. I cannot say enough about this movie. definitely a "must see on big screen" film. Little kids will especially love the Tow Truck, "Mater", "like in Tamater but without the Ta". The cows are Tractors and they go Tractor Tipping, the Bull is a HUGE Massey Ferguson Combine. The Mexican lowriders with the stereos built in are great!

Best line, "I'm havin' more fun than a tornado in a trailer park"! Films like this neeeeeed to be supported. Scenery was beyond outstanding in every way. Very "Route 66, cruise 'til the tires fall off" style film. You will enjoy it.

                  Theaters are sooo expensive though

blockbuster or netflix, much cheaper. On another note, my sister and her hubby will probably buy it and I'll just borrow it from them. They're crazy about those types of movies.

Matinees are cheaper and don't buy food there. My only entertainment expenses I'm putting down are taking kids to movies, museum, etc.

matinees = $8 here, was only 5.50 a few years ago. I'll do 5.50, but I drew the line after that. I'm such a cheapskate have to be though.

When i was two years prior to BK Movies were unheard of. Now that I'm back in b'dness, it's full swing. Took the wife to see it last night, loved it the second time.

I guess it hits home to me because of the Holbrook Arizona issue. I couldn't imagine owning land in a more remote place and then having Disney use it in a film.

It's $9.75 here, but worth it.

Believe me, I don't actually go to the movies often--only a few times a year and haven't been yet this year (really wanted to see Syriana).

$5.25 for a matinee here, but we can get discount tickets ahead of time. Can you tell that I'd do just about anything for my niece and nephew?

Not a thing wrong with that. You can't put a price on creating treasured memories

Our maintee is $4.25, and they have free refills on ANY size, so hubby and I buy our popcorn and drinks, and we bring paper lunch bags for the kids and fill their bags and hubby goes for a refill. .unlimited....LOL we also bring store bought candy in my purse, so we dont have to pay those prices, (4x what it is in the store). We get there earlier enough so we can do it so hubby doesnt miss any movie...LOL

It may sound cheesy , but this way the savings add up, and we get to see more movies that way.
The movies is what they remenber...Not what they eat popcorn out of...LOL
