    TransUnion proof of social security??

So, I've been in the process of cleaning up mine and my husbands credit reports. His Transunion report listed a charge off that should be listed as included in bankruptcy. I sent Transunion a letter, with a copy of our discharge, a copy of our filing, and a copy of his transunion credit report. They sent back another copy of his credit report with the item NOT fixed, and a letter with the response of: "RE: proof of social security number dispute request" and asking for a copy of either his social securty card, bank statement, paystub, drivers license.
What is all this about? And should I send them what they ask for?

Did you send the letter as yourself or as him? If you are the wife trying to correct the husband's stuff, especially if you have different last names, maybe they need more verification? Just a stab in the dark here. Bank statement, paystub or driver's license wouldn't necessarily have a SSN number on them, though.

I typed up the letter, but signed it from him, so it can't be that. It says the paystub etc. must have his social security number on it.
I had also sent them a letter for a seperate thing that needed corrected on my report and they corrected it with no problem.
Any ideas? Should I just send them what they want? And if so, which one is best to send? I don't really like the idea of sending something with our bank account number on it, or a pay stub with his income listed. I guess a copy of his social security card?
