    Ok... Here we go!

I recieved my new credit card today in the mail $300 limit. As per the ususal there are lots of fees to go along with it. My goal is to purchase a home in 2008 so this is pretty big first step! My plan is to pay the fees off in full before I use the card, then just use it once a week to purchase lunch at work using maybe $20-$30 a month. I plan not to carry it all the time just to avoid the tempation of not sticking exectly to my plan. This is a stange feeling to have some control over my future! It feels good, but there is a long road ahead. I've made some serious changes in my life and I'm so proud that my constant problems have made me stonger and more resolute to see this to the finish!
    My credit scores:
Before Filing: Tr 496, Ex 496, Eq 507

    Today: Tr 618 (+122), Ex 601 (+105), Eq 623 (+116)

I just activated my first post bk credit card and am scared to use it. I'm doing much better financially now that I don't have all that money going to creditors instead of where I needed it to go but.... I had no job in college and had some trouble with cards back then. I want to avoid that again since I'm being responsible with my money now.

Congrats on your new card! I'm expecting my 4th and 5th cards this week. My strategy has been to use the card immediately to buy all necessities I need at the time, then cut up the card. Then I immediately pay the balance in full, and leave the credit line open for it to report to the credit bureaus. It works! 4 months out of bk and my 5th card has a 5000 limit. FYI, on my fico score profile on myfico.com, it cites the #1 positive factor towards my credit score as having 0 balances / not using credit lines.
