    Changing to unpublished/unlisted number

    Good afternoon,

Something odd is happening. I just had my number changed to non published
not listed. No one should able to get my number unless I give it out according
to the phone company. I have had this new number like three days and already getting calls from out of state and they dont leave a message.
I called one of the numbers back, the recording said "this is an attempt to collect a debt please hang on" I got one call from ITT Tech and the guy asked for some dude I never heard of. Either they have found me LOL
or I got the old number of some guy who is also having a debt problem.

    The Fun Never Ends
    Thanks,

    Chris

If they didn't ask for you specifically, then I would say they have the wrong number or an old, reissued number. Like you said, an old number of some guy having a debt problem.

Make sure you put you're new number on the "do not call" registry.

We had the same thing happen to us when we moved last summer. Long before we knew we were in such bad financial condition. When we kept hoping selling the house would turn everything around for us.

The new phone number we got was/is also unpublished. Same thing as you. Calls from Collectors. Companies wanting to help us consolidate our debt. You name it. Whoever had that phone number before musta had financial issues and the number didn't sit idle very long. We were getting all their calls.
