    Fees waived

I just thought I wold post more about my case. I have all good news coming in this week. When I initially filed in April I requested that I have my fees waived because I did not have the $300 it costs to file. It was approved and I thought that was great. Then came June and I realized I needed to file two amendments to my petition which would cost $52. I didn't have a job and had no way of coming up with an extra $50.( I know it is not alot but I was unemployed). So I filed the amendments and the clerk's office said they would just bill me for them. Now comes July and I finally got a new job and I was expecting to pay the fees when I get my first check next week, but I just got a call from the Judge's assistant. He told me to write a letter to the judge asking to be waived from having to pay the amendment fees and I would be let out of that $50 charge. And it was the judge's idea. All this on top of the same judge denying the U.S. trustee's motion to dissmiss my case earlier this week.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

You are so right, Minny! It's great to know that not everyone in the bk system is out to make a buck off our misfortunes. Thanks for sharing your story, henkesj!
