    exemption questions

    Can anybody help me translating this as i don,t understand the means of following.

    EXEMPTIONS UNDER ILLINOIS LAW
    (Property that cannot be taken from you, legally)

    I don,t have a house i rent does this mean 15k as of my belongings in the residence or an actual residence.
    And can i transfered it to my belongings so they become exempt sort of like atransfering o f a wildcard.

    According to the codes I read, you cannot transfer your Homestead Exemption to anything else for use as a wildcard. A Homestead Exemption is for ownership and proceeds from the sale of a home only.

    But you don't really have to worry much about your household goods, heirlooms, clothing, and such in IL. It's all totally exempted anyway. No $$ limit is set on that exemption.
