If it is for work related expenses (travel, lodging, meals, etc) then no, not considered income. Just paying you back for what you paid out..Thanks,

If you mean that they pay you a seperate line item from which you turn around and buy your own health insurance -- then I believe the answer is yes, that is income. I have a similar situation with my employer and I've been told that counts as income. Check with your lawyer and let us know if you hear differently.Originally posted by CRRAVOSAIt is a credit towards health insurance. Thank for your replies.

Are you talking about something like a "flex credit"?
If you take medical insurance, you get so many "company bucks" to use to pay for the premium. But if you don't take insurance, you don't make any more money? Or is your base pay increased by the "flex benefit" amount?Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

I have a medical credit and a dental credit showing on each of my pay receipts. Although they appear to be income, mine are NOT considered part of my salary and are NOT reported to the IRS as income annually. They are just the portion of my health benefits my company pays, that's all.
Our bk lawyer says these credits are confusing and quite tricky to get right on bk forms. I chose to get written documentation from my HR dept explaining that these credits are part of my "total compensation benefits package" but they are not income in case our trustee questions them.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
