Will the fact that I only work part time, although I could probably make more money working full time at fewer $ per hour prevent me from being able to file bk? I shouldn't work full time for health reasons.

Fedler 07-27-2006, 01:37 PM As long as your doctor has documentation of this, no problem. How about working two jobs part time, then it won't affect your health. pink_amulet 07-27-2006, 08:39 PM What kind of illness prevents you from working full time, but part time is fine? I'm a nurse and can think of a fair number of illnesses that fit this picture - multiple scelerosis, congestive heart failure, fibromyalgia, and kidney disease to name a few. Those folks are lucky to work half-time - to work more will cause the body to tire and significantly worsen their symptoms to the point they can't work at all. And it's obvious that you are in dire need of a compassion transplant, whoever you are. You don't care anything about this person's or anyone else's problems here - you just want to get your emotional digs in but at no risk to yourself. That's pathetic because you make yourself feel powerful by belittling others - you're a sad little ineffective bully hiding behind the anonymity of the net. Off you go to my 'ignore' list....bye bye. And I've reported you to the mods as well. helpme 07-28-2006, 06:28 AM Well! Thanks for sticking up for me! I am sure you can understand that there are some things I am not willing to discuss in this online format, obviously money isn't one of them! tictacsir 07-28-2006, 06:09 PM I'm a nurse and can think of a fair number of illnesses that fit this picture - multiple scelerosis, congestive heart failure, fibromyalgia, and kidney disease to name a few. My attorney said it might be an issue because of an expense we were claiming(private school tuition - long story - another time) but the trustee didnt even bring it up...I cant imagine it will be a problem and just for the record you dont owe anyone an explanation why you are working part time instead of full time.....we are here to help you get through your BK... FoolAndHisMoney 07-28-2006, 07:45 PM The only time this would raise a flag is when a debtor chooses under employment on purpose just to get in under the means test. If you quit a good paying job just to file the courts don't like that unless you have an explanation. In your case with health issues and no recent history of full time employment it shouldn't be a problem. brokemommy 07-28-2006, 09:14 PM What kind of illness prevents you from working full time, but part time is fine? This post about working PT two jobs isn't real smart or friendly though? JeepMom 07-29-2006, 04:27 AM I do not work outside the home at all and it was not an issue. I stay at home with our children. Our kids had to go to our 341 hearing so the trustee saw how young they were. He was pleased I was staying home with them. Remember, most trustees are normal caring people. If you have a medical reason I'm sure you'll be just fine! FoolAndHisMoney 07-29-2006, 05:12 AM I do not work outside the home at all and it was not an issue. I stay at home with our children. JeepMom 07-29-2006, 05:54 AM Helpme should be fine, but the first part of your statement is questionable. Just ask Minny. I said MOST, not all. Minny's would fall into the "not-most" catagory. I'm sure Minny would still admit that she just got one of the bad ones and most are nice people for the most part. FoolAndHisMoney 07-29-2006, 06:38 AM I said MOST, not all. I know :) "Direct Merchants Bank ~ $1,5000" Is this correct? DMB gave you 15k just after a bankruptcy? I thought 1500 would be correct, but 15k? Seems like a lot for a recent bankruptcy. anonymuse 07-29-2006, 08:12 AM I said MOST, not all. Minny's would fall into the "not-most" catagory. I'm sure Minny would still admit that she just got one of the bad ones and most are nice people for the most part. She's got a whole slew of bad eggs--trustee, mortgage company, and attorney. She is an advocate of being on top of things and knowing your case better than your lawyer since you are the only one with a vested interest in the outcome. anonymuse 07-29-2006, 08:14 AM What kind of illness prevents you from working full time, but part time is fine? What if someone's skills are basically retail and they have back or knee problems preventing them from standing for a whole 8 hour shift? You really need to step back and think before you post--this was not a difficult question to answer. JeepMom 07-29-2006, 09:40 AM I know :) "Direct Merchants Bank ~ $1,5000" Is this correct? Thanks, I fixed it. brokemommy 07-29-2006, 11:36 AM I do not work outside the home at all and it was not an issue. I stay at home with our children. If you have a medical reason I'm sure you'll be just fine! Another senseable and well thought out statement from guess who? Yes, your right jeepmom, these trustee are her as a courtesy by the department of justice. They have no problem being compasionate and caring despite the laws set in place that outline there responsibilities. Just sweet caring folks that you can open up to. I am thinking of doing some heavy drinking tonite at the local watering hole, our local police dept is just like the bk trustee's. They are caring normal folks, that if I have to much to drink, I think they would follow me home as a courtesy, you know, make sure I am safe and all. | |
