    Values on Personal Property

    Can someone give me some guidelines how to value personal property?My lawyer said use Goodwill ans Salvation Army prices. I am still not sure how to come up with the values. Any advice appreciated.

      2nd hand stores. Garage and yard sales.

      Goodwill has an auction website with preset opens on items. You can try there.

        In my filing, I just put 'clothing items', '$200'. And most of that was from a leather jacket, a down jacket, and 2 samsonite travel bags... the rest were practically old worn out rags. Garage sale values are correct, unless clothing is new, in package and tags still attached.

          I have LOTS of clothing expensive jeans and I valued it like this....

          How much would u pay for someone elses expensive jeans that they had sitting around there butt in there crotch not sure of whats going on under there pants? NOT MUCH so I est. it all to be no more than 250.00 I know I can get a buck for each item on ebay and say about 250 pieces would be $250.00
