Anyone heard of The Credit After Bankruptcy Seminar or attended one?

    Hello All

A couple of weeks ago before my discharge I received an invitation in the mail from Michele & Stephen Synder who run the Credit After Bankruptcy Seminars. Stephen Synder also wrote a book on the same subject which I just found out about and reserved at the library (don't need to pay for something I can read for free). I am registered to attend a 4 hr seminar this Saturday morning (which I am debating whether to go or not). I have been receiving interesting newsletters from this couple and they even mailed me a DVD earlier this week which I haven't had a chance to view yet.

So I am wondering if anyone else on this forum, participated in this? If so, is the seminar preaching the same info in the book and newsletters? I would hate to sit for a long period of time and find out the information is very similar to stuff I have already read. The Synders claim that after 8 months they were able to completely recover from their BK that they filed back in 1993 with cars, mortgage, CC's, business loans, etc.

    Thanks

Never heard of it and I'm guess it's not a free seminar.

From your posts, you seem like a very knowledgeable person and based on what you've learned on the boards, I think you could get as much out of a $20ish book and reading this board and credit forums. Usually, the only benefits with seminars are the motivational factor associated with the "getting your butt in gear".

We attended the seminar and got a lot of useful information out of it. We were skepical of it being free, but it was and we are still getting weekly emails with loads of information. Hope you got a lot of info out of it too!

Umm, I just bought a house 8 months out. Does this mean I can write a book?

Did you wind up attending this seminar? If you did how was it?

I got into an argument with my SO early that morning and then I went to bed only to oversleep. The 1 1/2 hour commute on the train to get to a Saturday 8 am conference would have been a killer. I do get his weekly emails which are interesting. However within his emails there's a pitch to purchase something he's selling. I am awaiting his "Credit After Bankruptcy" book from the library. Why pay $30 for something I can read for free? I feel now that the seminar would have been more like a motivational one. I already have the motivation in me to re-build and not make the same errors.
