    Cellular service

I was just wondering, Has anyone had bad experiences with their cell service after filing bk? I just realized that would really suck to lose my service because It would not be likely that I would get service with someone else in the near future. When my contract is up will they allow me to renew? Are people allowed to get cellular service after filing bk?

I would hope they would look at your current credit history with their particular company instead of going to a credit report. My cell phone is through the phone company (Qwest) so I never considered that.

Who do you have service with? As long as you pay your bills on time, you shouldn't have to worry. As far as you contact ending, most companies will allow you to go month to month until you are able to negotiate a new service plan. Remember they are in business to make money, so as long as you've been paying your bills and your service isn't off, you should be ok.

SPRINT is by far the most BK friendly of all the major carriers. Deposits for bad credit for post paid service can be as low as $50.

I don't have a phone, they are not a necessity, for people with financial problems.

A phone isn't a necessity for him--no one would want to talk to him. ;)

                hi anonymuse,

I think you are right about YRUSODUMB, I thought he was playing in a poker tournament today? What is he doing here now? I now believe he is a troll trying to cause trouble, he is on my ignore list now; click

If he is really is a compulsive gambler, than once he hints rock bottom; probably this weekend, than maybe some jail time for assault on Monday. At least than he will have the opportunity to get some much needed help to control his anger and compulsive gambling addiction. There is life after stopping gambling and lots of ways to control his anger and become a productive citizen of this country. Right now money is not his problem and bankruptcy will not help him.

                Take care,

I have sprint and I love them. I've never had a problem with them, well I've had problems but they've corrected them. They screwed me once when I ordered a new phone and They gave me $50 service credit plus what they screwed up. What happened is they had my credit card on file and had been charging every month but for some reason they didn't auto charge one month....it didn't decline or anything like that they just didn't charge it and they disco'd my phone the next month. So I was livid. They credited my account $50 and fixed the bill....so I didn't pay anything. I've been a customer of theirs for like 5 years.

Obviously does not have teenaged children driving cars who've broke down, had a wreck, or been standed and needed a ride home.

Or a spouse living out of state who called home daily to chat with his/her family.

Or any number of other NEEDS for a cell phone.

I got scammed on a website, a lot of people did. Not really scamed scamed but we were supposed to get paid like 2 days ago and now they are saying we won't get paid until Thursday if we are lucky.

Lesson learned, I won't be doing any more offers that seem too good to be true because they probably are.

I only did it because so many others had done it and actually gotten paid. I think it was just too many people signed up at once and the company got in over their heads.

Bummer, JM. Hope when the dust settles you get a little out of your efforts. Wish the Net was more trustworthy about these deals - too many are just wishful thinking or outright scams these days.
