That's about average, but there are significant regional differences.

All those fees are on target, and as HHM stated, the actual attorney fees will vary from region to region.

I paid $1,500, but I had my attorney take care of some other legal work at the same time. My location is fairly obvious. ;)

Are you absolutely sure you worked with an Attorney and not a Paralegal, even for Mississippi, that seems extremaly low, did your attorney attend the 341 creditors meeting? Most Paralegal services that simply prepare the petition charge $150, so I can't really see how an attorney would only charge $200.

I paid $1200 in NC and can only get a hold of an answering machine when I call. The "assistant" always calls back and runs through the answers to my questions like she is trying to get out of the building because of a fire.

                        Ft. Lauderdale

All attorney's I called were $1150.00 to $1200.00 plus 200.00 filing fee. You really got an Attorney in Miss. for $200.00? I have family in Corinth and Grenada. That seems like a very low price.

That was the price of a basic Bankruptcy. extra hearings ran it to about $2000.00. Eight more years to retire and I'm outta' South Florida and back to the United States, reason, lower prices, affordable housing, low insurance and politicians who didn't grow up in thatched huts, half naked with pigs goats and who rape the system openly. if the rest of you laugh at the news from this place, you should!

In WI, I will pay $1000 with a $209 filing fee. The $1000 will cover any appeals as well as aiding to get anything negative off my credit that wasn't taken off. Does this sound reasonable?

                              Texas prices

Prices for attorneys I've called here in TX have ranged from $875-$1400, not including the $209 filing fee. I'm going middle of the road.
