    Keeping an account

Question. I purchased a computer from Best Buy. I'm in the process of filing bankruptcy. Is it a good idea to continue payments so that I can keep my computer? I was told that if I want to keep the computer, I may have to pay off the account. I am not able to do that. Help!

You should be able to keep it if you are current and stay current on your computer. You may have to execute a Re-affirmation agreement. But also in your "Statement of Intentions" in your BK paperwork, state that you will be reaffirming the debt with Best Buy.

      Best Buy Computer

I've never heard of Best Buy or any other Retailer knocking on the door to confiscate a purchase because of a Chapter 7 filing or default in payments.
I know it may sound crude, but there really aren't Computer Police out there that will come looking for your computer. Relax and if you will really feel better by paying Best Buy after your discharge, call them. They will be happy to take your money, but honestly, your computer is worth nothing to them, once it left their store. Good Luck!

Thank you... Rooms to Go ain't comin'. Brandsmart ain't comin'. CompUSA ain't comin'. Best Buy ain't comin'. Circuit City ain't comin'. Ben there, can tell you, they don't want used junk. That's what it is when it leaves the store.

Not to be offensive but (and I've been where you are at), we worry about our own little stuff as though it's a prize these folks want back, they don't want it, it's used trash to them. A Rolex, maybe. Jewelry, time to worry. Consumables that immediately succumb to entropy, no one wants them.

Don't sweat this or waste a worry on it, no retailer wants to hold a garage sale. A used computer is garbage. I've thrown out alot of computers. I build them and six months later they need to be upgraded and i trash the mainboard and processor for a better one.

We have furniture we bought in 2003 and I have been trying to pay them the best I can.. but I was wondering the same thing... they won't want the stuff back if I file on that cc too? ( its citibank unfortunately I have read they can be trouble???) I was planning on reaffirming those cc... but thats kinda useless huh??
