    Min Highway 127 Yardsale

Min, I caught a glimpse of the Yard sale from Crossville to Chattanooga. Are you in on it? we had to take US to Chattanooga on our last day to avoid it. I understand that it goes up through Fentress County at Pall Mall to Kentucky.

My wife knows and that I really want to move to Pall Mall but she says it is to cut off, well, that's for me all the way. If Alvin York is from there then I'd like to be also. When we go to the range here my youngest always wears his "Alvin C. York Black Powder Shoot Pall Mall, TN" shirt, never for anything else. For me, remote is best. Yes, I despise civilization save for modern dentistry. In the scheme of things dentistry ranks with indoor plumbing as one of the most necessary things.

Now in case our local one dimensional troll aka The Village Idiot aka Lightning is reading this I will say the following, it's a joke dummy.

    Yep, Yep.....

That 127 Yard Sale goes all the way up into Michigan.........almost....
It covers 3 states I think...... Every year, bumper to bumper.....

It travels up thru the state about 30 minutes from my house......

Friends of mine takes off all week just to travel it and bring back treasures.... especially antiques. She has a antique shop and finds some great deals.....

I've never traveled the whole thing, but then I don't have a week to get out there and shop either, lol.....

You'll have to travel it some year after you retire..... check it out....

Min, I won't be really retiring. Merely retiring from here to go to another. If I do 30 I'll be 53. I will still have to work until 62. If I choose to go until 58, the drop is great, the money somewhat better but I still will have to work until 62 because of the insurance. That would likely mean staying here.

I have to ask myself if 200,000 cash is worth five years (35) extra here and not enjoying the life I will have up there. I have reached the conclusion that 30 years is not worth that and the 35 definitely not. I
I need to get out at 48, still workable and also want to enjoy my native State while still reasonably young. No amount of money is worth many more years here unless it enables me to travel up there at least six times per year.

You are a very smart man, robivi3. Glad you are doing what is best for yourself! Here's hoping your move to TN is an uneventful one and you can get back to enjoying life again!

Your absolutely right - sometimes the money is not worth the problems.....
Have made that decision myself in the past..... Hard one to make.....
Yet I'm not sorry that I did.....

Weigh the pros and cons...... do what brings you and yours happiness, peace of mind...... and will secure you future plans.

          Good Luck.... keep us posted

Rob...I live in west Tennessee and have never heard of that monster garage sale but I sure would like to go...and by the way I would bail now while you are still healthy, young and can enjoy life...there is more to life than money although you couldnt convince my brothers of that...money rules for them...

Min...how long does the sale last?
