    Pacer

Just filed Ch 7 on 8/25/2006. How long does it take to find out when your 341 mtg will be held? Also, I have read a few things about PACER. What is it and is it really worth paying for?

I found it to be a valuable resource. I am one that wants to know EVERYTHING that is going on with something like this and that is what it provided..

If you filed on the 25th of Aug, it should be in there already. If you get an account setup in PACER you can login and view the docket activity for your case. Your 341 has likely been set already..

The one thing I will say is this.. Just look at your case.. You can easily tell when there is an update without being charged for it, just watch the last update date.. I was too nosey with PACER and it cost me some bucks to do that.. However, I did find out that a number of my family members have filed bk in thep past.. Just stick to yours and you will be fine "money wise"
    Thanks,

If you use a Debit Card when you register, you'll be allowed immediate access at PACER. But that session only lasts until you log out. Then you'll have to wait for your User ID and Password to be emailed to you within 24 hours of registration.

If you don't use a Debit Card for billing, you'll have to wait for your password and User ID to be snail mailed to you via the Postal Service.

PACER charges $0.08/page accessed but one PACER webpage can be more than several billable pages.

And, as GaGuy says, if you just monitor your own case, you won't run up too much of a bill.

Also, PACER bills quarterly but won't charge you if you don't spend $10 or more. So if you don't run up $10, you won't be charged by PACER.

A valuable hint is , whenever you use Pacer to check on things, go through the trouble of using you SSN, this way you will not be charged, if you use your name etc. the bills add up, and look only for a date of last filing, if this has changed , then you will be charged to look, if the date has not changed then there is no reason to look further. Good luck

You generally find out in about 2 weeks and the meeting is scheduled 4-6 weeks after you file.

            I'm confused too

I filed around the same time and when I went on Pacer and clicked on Docket it didn't say anything. So when I go in under my SS# if my 341 is scheduled, is the only way to see it through the docket report? Will it come up automatically there?

            Thanks!
