I have heard that the IRS is not supposed to collect tax debts over 10 years old from the date the form was filed. Is there any truth to this? I have debts 8 and 9 years old and I am wondering if I can just sit them out as an alternative to bankruptcy. I have nothing to attach a lein to.

The IRS is not limited by any statue of limitations and IRS debt cannot be cleared by filing bankruptcy.
