    Lender: Americredit
    APR: 18
Down payment: 500 (wasn't required, but that is what I put down)
Months after discharge: 0 months....5 days later

Have no clue what my scores are. Will be cleaning them up, though.

      Lender: Santander
      APR: 20.49
      down payment: $1000
      months after discharge: 1
      months after filing: 4
credit scores: 549 transunion, 568 Experian, 521 Equifax

I bought a 2008 Pontiac G6 w/ 36K miles from Carmax. I would have waited longer after discharge, but the clunker I was driving (and borrowing from a friend) was no longer safe to drive. The amount of the loan is just shy of $12K with 72 month term and payments of $301.00 a month. We will be paying $1,000.00 a month to have it paid off within a year.

Just got approved at 11% for 60 months on a 2009 Mustang coupe for $16000 through Wachovia bank. I can refinance after 1 yr of payments on time. I have only a $116 a month college loan and that's it. I do not want to ever again see a credit card, although my bankruptcy was actually due to being unable to sell my old house for THREE years and then having renters who not only wouldn't pay, but trashed the hell out of it...I was discharged on 9/04/2009...credit scores: TU 647 EQ 580 not sure what the last one is...Must add the payment is 385.00 a month with no down payment...I plan to add an extra $100 to each payment..

We bought an older minivan while still in bk with cash. We had intended to only buy vehicles with cash from there on out, but here we are...

We haven't finalized anything yet, but we are looking at:

          Lender: Chase
          APR: 13.95
Vehicle: 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT (42k miles)
          Price: Around 13k
          Down payment: 3k
Length of loan: 60 months (5 years)
          Payments: Around $230/month
Filed BK: Close to 1 year ago
          Discharge: 6 months ago
          Credit Score: Mid-500s
          Monthly Income: 4200

If we purchase this vehicle, we'll pay it off in 2 years rather than 5.

We were also approved by Road Loans for 17.49% and 2750 down. They have strict perameters regarding vehicle choice (2003 or newer, 80k miles or less, minumum finance amount is 6k, etc).

The dealership has suggested that it will be better for our credit to have a "prime" lender rather than a 2nd chance type place. Initially the apr being offered from the "prime" bank was 18%.

I am a little nervous about financing something as we have not added any new debt thus far, but I think we need a little more dependable vehicle.

I could not believe the rate and low down payment that was offered just a couple days after discharge. We also tried Capital One and were declined.

I have no idea what my credit score is. I can't justify the $30 to find out right now. I do know that my wife and I had a strong credit history until 6 months before filing and continued to pay on 1 of our vehicles and student loans through out.

I'm interested in finding info about getting a 2nd car loan, post BK.

We're keeping an SUV and are current on it, but I need a vehicle, and I've read on various forums that it is much tougher when you're seeking to finance a 2nd vehicle...

anyone in the same boat and were approved for that second auto loan?

                        Thanks so much.

I can not get approval anywhere. The only place willing to finance us is drivetime. Umm noooooo. We had a car repossessed through them in 2002. In 2008 they turned it over to some attorney/debt collector in S. Ga. They went behind our backs and filed a court action against us. We owed $6,000 on the car, yet they got a judgement for $17,000. They then went behind our backs to a county we have never lived in to put a lien on my car title and to get a garnishment order. Again we were never served notice to appear. My husband found out when he picks up his check to see 60% of it garnished. They were the MAIN reason why we filed chapter 7. DO NOT buy from drivetime, because God forbid something happens to you like it did with my husbands job injury they will screw you left and right.
