I was discharged 10/2010 and kept throwing all the credit offers away because I was so afraid of being rejected. Orchard Bank/HSBC kept sending me offers that were crummy at first, and kept getting better as the weeks went on. The last one was 0% interest for a year and 12.9% thereafter, with a guaranteed $300 limit. It sat on my table staring at me for 2 weeks. Finally got brave enough to give it a shot this morning and got approved for a $1000 limit in less than 30 seconds.I was blown away! $49 yearly fee, but it's worth it to me right now to be able to start rebuilding. I thought I was going to have to stat with a secure card. Pretty thrilled right now, but I'll just be using it for groceries and Netflix and paying it off monthly! :-)
