After chapter 7 discharge, does paying student loans on time build up credit?

People say that, to build your credit up, you need to get a credit card and show that you make payments to it. Well, I have two debts that are not going to be discharged--student loans.

Does making payments to them improve your credit score to any significant degree?

Student loans report as installment loans. Installment loans don't have a huge impact on your credit report, at least when they're current.

Stop paying your student loans and yes, that will have a large impact on your credit.
Chapter 7, above median, no asset. Discharged with no UST involvement.
