Credit cards from Bk that still show as open but 0 balance

We filed Ch 13 and were discharged in 2011. Several cards that were included in the bk show as open with 0 balance but showing available credit. Because of the time length showing credit, does it hurt anything to just leave them alone. It means that technically the account is open with a $4000. credit limit. I just cleared off one of them and closed it and my credit score went down because it shortened my age of credit. I'm thinking I should have maybe left it alone. Thanks! bkrelief

Yes absolutely leave those alone for the exact reason you stated.

      Do not close them!

        That kills your AAoA.

I have this one Merrick Bank account with a $300 credit limit.. but I refuse to close it because it would affect my AAoA. They won't increase my limit! And since there's no AF, I keep it open for only that reason.
