Student loan deferment options long term

My wife and I received our CH7 discharge at the end of March. We filed due to a combination of high credit card debt and the loss of her job in June 2012. She, like many people, has been applying for jobs like crazy but has only gotten one interview thus far that did not develop into anything. I am luckily employed with good benefits, a decent salary, and my employer pays my student loan. She also has student loans that had gone into deferment when she was still employed because she had gone back to school in order to get her Special Education certification (she was a high school teacher), but she will finish school this summer. As I understand it you can defer your loans up to three years if you are unemployed, so once she's done with school (July), can she apply for an unemployment deferment for three years starting then?
