    Before Meeting

How much money can you have in your checking account the day of the 341?

It varies from state to state. We had to have less than $600. You'll need to find out what you're states exemptions are for cash.

on the day of the 341 I'm not sure it matters that much. I thought it was on the day of filing that was important.

We we filed we had over a $1,000.00 and they didn't say anything. We filed in the western district. We were CH7 no asset.

It looks like Michigan is one of the states where one can opt to use Federal exemptions. I didn't find a cash on hand or wildcard exemption for Michigan but did find a Federal Wildcard exemption of just over $1100. Hope that helps a little.

Depends on your state. Ours was a few thousand if I recall correctly.

As others have already mentioned, it depends on the state. Here in CA you can use the wildcard exemption and have $20k in the bank. However if I had $20k I probably wouldn't have needed BK lol

To reiterate... it's the day you file, not the day of the 341. Right?
