    Inheritance

If you filed Ch.7, it was discharged and then a year plus later
you are possibly going to receive an inheritance from an uncle,
that's your money and not anything to do with the Trustee,etc..

    Correct?

I believe it will depend on the date your uncle passed away and not the date you get the money. If he died within 180 days of the date you filed then you would have an issue to work out with the Trustee.

    Sorry for your loss.

The question is, when did your uncle die?

If he died within 180 days from when you "filed" your bankruptcy, the money belongs to the BK. If he died after that time frame, the money is all yours.

When you actually get the proceeds is irrelevant.

Please alert all wealthy and ill relatives that I am now well past my 180 days AND am available for immediate adoption.

Would that be the Happy, Happy, Joy-Joy dance made famous in Ren and Stimpy?

I believe a person needs to declare it if it's within 180 days of the bankruptcy discharge. If it's a year later it's probably fine. I would call your bankruptcy attorney and ask them what you should do.
