    Credit Report Question

    I filed chapter 7 in March 2014.
One of the CC's I declared is showing a $0 balance and is also shows a $1000 credit limit.
I assumed all the CC's I declared would be cancelled so I was surprised to see this.
Do you think this card is still active or is this a fluke?

Secondly as most of my CC's that I declared are now reading a $0 balance my credit score is going up.
    Is this normal?

The credit report should show whether the account is open or closed. What agency's report are you looking at? Some credit card accounts do survive BK. But, if you had a balance on the card that was discharged, I doubt the account is still open. Either that, or they haven't gotten around to closing it yet. My closed accounts still show the credit limits on my credit reports.

Yes, your score can go up when as a result of your report showing all zero balances because you have a low utilization. It is very common for a credit score to go up after discharge.

Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!
