    charitable contribution question

I am planning on filing ch7 in July or August; it should be a fairly straight forward no-asset case with unsecured debt only. The statement of financial affairs requires the disclosure of any charitable contributions greater than $100 per recipient made within one year preceding the filing. In December I made a $1000 contribution by check to a non-profit organization. Is this something that the bankruptcy trustee may want to recover? I don't want any contact being made with the non-profit if it can be avoided. Thanks for any help!

i know we had thousands of dollars that year because we moved and i gave many items to local charities...i even gave my rare trees to the state botanical gardens. it resulted in a substantial amount of charitable contributions. we listed them and then attached copies of the receipts, ours came from the county state and town so the trustee didn't question it. (most money we gave went to the state...easy for the trustee to check if she wanted to).

My husband and I filed in June, 2012 and were discharged in September 2012. My sister and I had a small piece of land that we had donated to a nonprofit organization in March,2011. We had to list this on our chpt 7. I don't know if the creditors ever tried to get my half of the donation or not, but it has been 1 year and our case has not closed. We have not heard anything from anyone since we received our discharge.
