    WA unemployment exemption question

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this. I am in the process of paying the attorney so we can file. The soonest would be mid-May.

In Washington "Unemployment Compensation" is exempt. In addition to that under "Wild Card" it states :

$2000 of any personal property (no more than $200 in cash, bank deposits, bonds, stocks & securities)

I also have lost my job and have a severance package of gross amount $6300.

I am wondering if I can use that severance package to pay my regular monthly bills (rent, car payments) and regular living expenses, and since unemployment is exempt just cash it and sock it away?

If I have that money from unemployment and it is cash or in a seperate bank account since it is exempt does that mean they can not touch it?

the unemployment exempt means they can not take it before you get it.
use your Unemployment to pay your bills. think about putting the 6300 in a 401 K ?
