Tsk, tsk, tsk... thanks for the personal attack. Not surprising, though, considering your previous posts.

LOL How hypocritical can you get?

You have done nothing but call Palin names in your posts. I am not a supporter of either party, but I don't have to stoop to calling accomplished people names.

My post was to draw your attention to your inane remarks. It obviously went over your head.

You didn't know that public figures have ALWAYS been fair game, but that forum rules prohibit insulting fellow members? Wow, you must be very young or perhaps a newbie to the online world. Welcome aboard.

The only good part I can see now is that we, as a nation, have spent $700 BILLION dollars, there's no way Obama would ever be able to afford his national healthcare plan.

WHOEVER gets in has one heck of a mess to clean up. If Obama gets in and doesn't get the job done, liberals will blame it on Bush. When McCain gets in and doesn't get the job done, he won't be able to pass the blame as easily as Obama would.

I can't belive anyone would use the word "BIMBO" to describe a public figure and politician such as her as it is an insult to all women. Additionally, probably not the most accurate word as BIMBO seems to imply promiscuity. Which I have yet to see any evidence of. They'll both blame it on Congress.

Neither will have the money to do what they are promising.

I do fully believe that the situation in 4 years will be worse than it is today, unless Congress and the President can address budget shortfalls, find a way to pay for entitlements going forth, and pay off the national debt. The borrower is slave to the lender, and if we are to be a free nation we must be debt free in the future, even if that means painful cutbacks in entitlement programs, domestic spending, military spending and foreign spending. If we don't cut spending the problems of today will seem as nothing to the problems of the late 2020s and early 2030s.

Florida sheriff harassed by fbi for using obama's middle name 'hussain'?

Lee County, FL Sheriff Mike Scott never expected to create a firestorm when he used the full name of the Democrat Party's presidential candidate "Barack Hussein Obama."

At a rally in Estero, Florida, for GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the highly decorated law enforcement executive was the pre-rally speaker for the Palin appearance. As with most political rallies, the job of pre-rally speakers is to warmup the audience.

According to GOPUSA's (gopusa.com) editor Bobby Eberle whether the audience is cheering wildly or booing loudly, the pre-rally speakers are there to wake them up and get them going. So Sheriff Scott stepped to the podium and said, "On November 4, let's leave Barack Hussein Obama wondering what happened."

Apparently, saying "Hussein Obama" in public might just get you a visit from the FBI. Just ask Sheriff Mike Scott who is under investigation for referring to Obama at a campaign rally by his full name.

Oh, the shock of it all! Speaking someone's full legal name in public! When asked about the "incident," Sheriff Scott responded by saying:

“I absolutely, unequivocally don’t regret saying it,” Scott told the News-Press on Monday. “In order to be a speaker at this event, I had to give my full name — Michael Joseph Scott — to the Secret Service, even though I’m the sheeriff of Lee County. So why would I apologize? Is there some kind of double standard here where I have to give my full name, but I can’t use his?"

“Unless he changed his name, my position hasn’t changed,” said Scott of Obama. “It seems very clear to me that people have one of three stances on this thing: There are those who dislike it, there are those who like it, and there are those who think it’s a whole big deal about nothing, which is where I stand.”

"We have seen many changes in this great nation which have been brought about by left wing activists. As kids, we used to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Now, it's being attacked in the courts. We used to say a prayer in the morning before school or at football games. Socialists in America have deemed that "offensive" and the practice has all but disappeared. Christmas displays honoring the birth of Christ trigger convulsions by the Left, who say that we shouldn't make people feel "uncomfortable" with our manger scenes," said GOPUSA's Eberle.

"[S]heriff Scott also has a right to say what he wants to say without fear of reprisal by the government. However, according to a local Florida NBC affiliate, Sheriff Scott's remark has now earned him an investigation by the federal government," added Eberle.

The NBC station reports that officials with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel have started an investigation of the Sheriff under the question of "did he use his position as sheriff to influence an election? If so, he could be in violation of a federal election law called the Hatch Act." The basis the Feds are using is whether Scott was campaigning while on duty and in uniform.

Sheriff Scott responded to the NBC story with the following statement:

"I am on duty 24/7 and 365 whether in or out of uniform. Like every other elected official, I am aware of from President to Governor to State Representatives, etc. We engage in political activities whether for ourselves as candidates or for others. As of this writing, I am unaware of having done anything to generate all this attention other than using the senator's full name."

"The question is this... If Sheriff Scott had not said 'Barack Hussein Obama,' do you really think he would now be under investigation? If you answered "no," then that should send a shiver down your spine, because it means that the government is imposing pressure and creating a public example of Scott for simply saying someone's name," says Eberle.

"Whether the investigation leads to charges or legal action is not the point. The point is that government intimidation is being brought to bear for someone exercising his first amendment right to free speech. This is wrong, regardless of whether you think his usage of Barack Hussein Obama was appropriate or not. This is still America, isn't it?" he added.

                      Another view:

                      Sheriff's Tirade Violated Hatch Act

Mike Scott is the right-wing sheriff of Lee County, Florida. (His physical resemblance to Men At Work lead singer Colin Hay has been noted.)

Scott is the reactionary beezweezer who appeared at a rally featuring Sarah Palin and made fun of Obama's middle name. Now that remark has resulted in a formal complaint about Scott violating the Hatch Act.

The Hatch Act is a longstanding law that prevents government employees from engaging in partisan political activity. The sheriff - whose department receives federal funds - violated this law by engaging in political activity while on duty and in uniform. He also wore political buttons while he was on duty.

Scott so clearly broke the Hatch Act that a government investigation against him has now been launched.

He also appears to have violated Lee County's own code of ethics. This rule says county employees may not campaign in a county uniform, even if they're off-duty. However, one county official says Scott is not a county employee because he's an elected official.

Are you following that? They actually claimed the sheriff isn't a county employee because he's elected.

As an another example of Lee County right-wing doublespeak, Mike Scott said he was justified in ridiculing Obama's middle name because he had to give his own middle name to the Secret Service to speak at the event. This is relevant how? Obama wasn't at the Palin rally, and giving your own middle name to the Secret Service is a bit different from making light of someone else's in front of a crowd.

                      And this guy's a sheriff?

                      http://onlinelunchpail.blogspot.com/...hatch-act.html

Lee County's sheriff office receives over $1 Million in federal funds each year. Hatch act is Federal law. Either this sheriff is really dumb, or he thinks he's above the law (like some other right wingers in our government.)

Depending how elections are held the Sheriff may not have realized he was breaking the law. I mean the Sheriff up til last year here was formerly the coroner......who had no law experience....

You have to wonder, especially when reading this article, about what the SECRET SERVICE have said in response to a remark supposedly said at McCain-Palin rally (which Obama mentioned and tried to make political points with in the debate last night) - if the media is completely in the tank for Obama and have forsaken ANY journalistic integrity.

Secret Service says "Kill him" allegation unfounded
By Andrew M. Seder [email protected]
                          Staff Writer

SCRANTON – The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.

The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Obama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him."

News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.

Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.

“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.

He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”

We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”

Hackett said he did not hear the remark.

Slavoski said Singleton was interviewed Wednesday and stood by his story but couldn’t give a description of the man because he didn’t see him he only heard him.

When contacted Wednesday afternoon, Singleton referred questions to Times-Tribune Metro Editor Jeff Sonderman. Sonderman said, “We stand by the story. The facts reported are true and that’s really all there is.”

Slavoski said the agents take such threats or comments seriously and immediately opened an investigation but after due diligence “as far as we’re concerned it’s closed unless someone comes forward.” He urged anyone with knowledge of the alleged incident to call him at 346-5781. “We’ll run at all leads,” he said.

Yes the mainstream media has been in the tank for Barack Obama since the get go. They are mostly left leaning and Barack is very left if you go by his record in Chicago and Illinois Senate as well as his own US Senate Record.

They have been unfair in their coverage of the Democratic primaries and in the general election.

Imagine how much better our nation would be, if they gave fair and balanced coverage to all candidates, not just the R and D. I think they should be required to give equal coverage to any political candidate regardless of party affiliation who can mathematically win the office they are seeking even if it is improbable. It would force the candidates to get past sound bytes and rhetoric.

In fact I've wondered if the discrimination against other parties in the election process and media coverage would perhaps violate some part of the anti discrimination laws, since it is clearly construed to discriminate against people who are not Republicans or Democrats.

The basic mindset that has been implanted into the minds of many Non Arabs/Muslims, is that those, people are commiting suicide based attacks, bombings, etc...because of of thier religion. I kept asking myself, could this be true? Does the religion of Islam really suggest that it's believers/followers, die in the name of Islam, and harm innocent people, and kill themselves in support of Islam. This theory simply didn't make any sense to me. So I took it upon myself to research the writing, and preachings of the of Islam's holy book, the Koran. What did I find out?, Islam clearly states that suicide, murder, and harming innoccent people is forbidden!

The bottom line is, Americans and many, many other people simply associate Muslims/Islam with the Middleeast, Iraq, etc...it is true that the bulk of the worlds Muslim population reside in the Middle East. But the world should be told, and know that, the people that are killing, and exploding themselves and others, weren't didn't receive thier instructions for destruction from Islam, and or the Koran. It's all media hype to help garner support from the rest of the world, especially Americans. Miseducation, is a serious, and epidemic problem for us Americans.

My feeling is that while not all "middle easterners" or "muslims" may not be murderers, it seems like they are never outraged over what goes on over there.

For instance when the USA was attached by American terrorists in Oaklahoma the nation pulled together as it always does, helped out in anyway possible, made donations, cried, etc.

When an extremist cuts off a living human being's head the rest of the middle eastern population doesn't seem outraged. It seems pretty normal to them.

As you said it could just be the media though not reporting their outrage just like the media reported them laughing at us on 911. Since I don't live there (thank goodness) I can't tell what's real and what's not.
