Bailey, Riley, Buch & Harman, L.C. is the merged successor of the lawfirms of Byrum, Bailey & Riley, L.C., and Riley & Riley, L.C. The lawfirm of Riley & Riley was founded in 1878 by Thomas S. Riley, a formerAttorney General of the State of West Virginia. Four generations of the Rileyfamily have practiced law with the firm. The law firm of Byrum, Bailey &Riley, L.C., was founded in 1915 by P. J. McGinley. Two generations of theBailey family have practiced with the firm.

The year 1995 marked the addition of Harry L. Buch as a member of the firm.Having practiced law for more than thirty years, he has brought seasonedexperience to the firm in the banking, corporate and estate planning areas ofthe law.

Each firm has had a long history of public service as well as service to itsclients. Members of each firm have succeeded to the offices of United StatesDistrict Court Judge, Assistant United States Attorney, Prosecuting Attorney,City Solicitor, Circuit Court Judge, State Senator, Justice of the West VirginiaSupreme Court of Appeals, Presidency of the West Virginia State Bar and BarAssociation and Member of the ABA Board of Governors, and most recently, UnitedStates Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia.
