Michael L. Detzky, Esq. is a graduate of Rutgers College where he obtained his Bachelors Degree with Highest Honors and election to Phi Beta Kappa, the national collegiate Honor Society, in 1975. He obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ in 1978.

Mr. Detzky served a prestigious clerkship with the late Honorable Milton B. Conford, Presiding Judge for Administration for the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court from 1978- 1979 during a period when the Judge was temporarily assigned to the New Jersey Supreme Court.

In March 1983, Mr. Detzky established a full service law firm in Freehold dedicated to excellence in the practice of law and client satisfaction. Mr. Detzky, and his staff of para- professionals offer prompt, quality, legal representation and are ever mindful of the fact that we are in a service business. From 1984 to 1998, Mr. Detzky served on the private panel of bankruptcy trustees administered and maintained by the United States Trustee for New Jersey which enables him to bring a unique perspective to the firm's practice in consumer and business bankruptcy not easily obtained by other attorneys. He has represented debtors, creditors, trustees and committees in proceedings before the Bankruptcy Courts for over 20 years. Mr. Detzky has also frequently served as a lecturer and instructor to other lawyers in bankruptcy matters for programs sponsored by the NJ Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

He has been engaged in immigration and nationality law since 1979 and is a Member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the New Jersey State Bar Immigration Law Section.

Mr. Detzky has been in the United States Naval Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps for 20 years and presently holds the rank of Captain. He has been certified a defense counsel by the Judge Advocate General of the Navy and is well equipped to represent members of all of the Armed Services in administrative separation proceedings and courts martial defense throughout the world.
