    Macy's card survived BK

It was zero-balance when I filed, and it is not affiliated with any others that I BK'd.

Checked my credit reports, and it said "open, paid/paying as agreed".

Ordered a couple of small items online and they have shipped, and it appears they raised my limit from 300.00 to 2000.00 during my BK! Must have been some automatic thing when my other balances went to zero...

It may or may not continue to survive. Don't be surprised if it gets cancelled out in the next several weeks/months or even years as we found out with a Dress Barn card that survived. Under those circumstances be careful for a while as to what you charge (keep it low) in case it does get closed cause you will be responsible for any balance owing once closed.

Right, I saw your post about that...I almost never used it before, so I will probably buy a token item every 3-4 months or so just to keep some activity on it. The Macy's store here sucks anyway, so no biggie if they cancel it

My Dell card survived with a 4k balance. I charged about $1500 on it 6 months after my BK and paid it down over the next year since it was at 0% interest. I'm sure that this card has attributed to my credit rating rebounding quickly after my BK.

It's still open but I probably will never use it again.

Whipster, my Macy's cards survived as well. I have two accounts: a revolving store account that can only be used at Macy's and a Macy's VISA that can be used anywhere. I also had a zero balance on both accounts at the time of filing/discharge. Both credit lines were decreased to $500 each but they both remain active and I've used them both since my discharge, which was back in July.

Interestlying, I never activated my cards until after my discharge. After discharge I tried using the VISA and it was declined. I called and found out it was never activated. They activated it for me and said I was good to go.
