and it still drags on and on..

Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well. Our chapter 7 bk is still open, the last update was 8-15-14, "Receipt of Unclaimed Funds". We filed Dec 2012 and it was discharged a few months later, but remained open because of assets. It seems to be slowly moving along but at a defiantly at snails pace, sigh. Any thoughts on the time line at this point?

Absolutely no idea. It is not too uncommon for 1-2 years after discharge for an "asset" Chapter 7 case to close. It looks like the Trustee sent out checks and some were returned. That would indicate that it is, perhaps, winding down. You won't know until you see the Trustee's Final Report.
    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10

Hiya Justbroke, well, according to Pacer it says the Trustee's Final Report was filed on, 05/22/2014 (Trustee's Final Report. Filed by Trustee. Attorney fill-in-the-blank).

Well, if unclaimed funds are still coming in, then there is something wrong. Maybe that was the Trustee's Preliminary Report and not the real final report. I can't really say what's going on with your case closing. I know that my Chapter 7 was 5 months in limbo because someone forgot to check a box somewhere. I was a no asset case.

Doesn't matter if it's 5 dollars or 5000 dollars. Until the trustee balances, it won't be closed. My case was a chapter 7 asset case that took 13 months to close.
