Health Savings Account - Is my employer's contribution exempt?

My employer recently changed our health insurance benefit to a high deductible HMO policy with an HSA account. I now have a $2,000 deductible for health insurance (previously had no deductible) but my employer has deposited $2,000 into my HSA to cover the deductible. Does anyone know if this is exempt?

That would be considered an employee benefit under your health care as you would not have that benefit unless you took the insurance and paid premiums out of your payroll check for those benefits and it is money that you cannot touch unless you utilize it for payment of medical expenses while an employee. I don't think you would even have to consider it but always bring matters up to your attorney to ensure he/she is aware of everything that is on your mind.
