I am in my 27th month of my 60 month Chapter 13 plan. It's been a tough struggle and getting worse. Looking at my monthly statement from CitiFinancial, across the top of the statement it states "Volunatary Payment Coupon". Just what does this mean? I am a month behind on this and wondering what this means now. I sure thought this was secured debt and must be paid.
I wrote them today, asking if they could reduce my payment in half for the next 5 years, then I should be able to make a huge balloon payment, which represents about 50% of the original amount financed. Will be inheriting property likely before my 60 months is over and my net worth will be healed.
Also, I wrote CitiMortgage to see if they could get together with CitiFinancial who has this 2nd and see if it can be all combined into one 30 year, fixed rate loan. Figured with them getting the TARP money, maybe they can work some magic. I see they have some wonderful programs lately.
