Car loan after discharge

I expect that my credit rating will be quite trashed after getting discharged. How does it work if I apply for a loan with a cosigner who has excellent credit rating. Would that help to lower interest rates or not really?

If you have a cosigner then they would go by that persons credit. AND go after them instead of you, if you default.
