Christian Community Credit Union : Auto Refi @ 6.75% (CH7 Discharged 06/06)

Hi all..

I wanted to share some news with you.. A very wise man told me that there IS life after BK and I would see it IF i chose to look in the right places.

I surrendered my car in my BK that was discharged last June and do not regret it at all. I was approved in Oct 06 for a Cap1 Auto Loan for 10.95%. Pretty good huh?

It gets better!! I was searching online and reading aother forums and located Christian Community Credit Union (www.mycccu.com) and after reading all of the rave reviews from others on them, I decided to apply. I was approved for a $2500 Platinum Card and also got my car refied for (GET THIS) 6.75%..

I have not done a lot to repair anything since rec my discharge.

Do fall prey to these loan sharks who want to give you 17%+ interest rates. That is killer and so hard to ever get out from under.. Do your research, I did and it was worth it..

Thanks,
GaCreditGuy

Great Credit Union!

So far I've have had a great experience with christian community credit union. I applied for the visa and was approved and did a balance transfer of my hooters card, reducing my interest rate from 26% to 10%, yeehaw!

I'm also in the process of trying to refinance my cap one auto loan through them. They are very easy to deal with and very helpful. I highly recommend them and wish to say thanks for putting there information on here, this site is always worth a look and the information I've got off of here has helped reestablish my credit very fast!!

I called and talked to the loan dept. She said they give a weighted total to your credit score, debt to income ratio, and your recent credit history. Said its not just a computer deicison, but a real person decision. I'm waiting another week because we just paid off a few accounts that had balances on them and I want to make sure they reflect zero balances before the application goes through. So I guess I'll apply for the credit card and shoot for the low interest car loan and try to refi my cap one car loan thats at 10something? If I can get the credit car with a high limit I'd love to just close all the others and simplify my life a bit. I know it might lower my score a bit but then I wouldn't need to be applying for ANY credit any time soon, so it wouldn't really matter. I could just sit tight for a few years and not worry about it. I would be a happy camper if I could make out like Gcamperguy...only maybe with a little higher limit on the card.....hopefully, we'll see. I'll be curious to see how you make out, catchme, let us know asap!!

I'm still waiting, the suspense is killing me. The 6.75% refi would make a huge difference for me. It sounds too good to be true. We'll see. They also have a balance transfer special. If you apply now and transfer now its 3.9% for 18 months. If you apply now and transfer after 60 days its 2.9% for the life of the balance. Hmmmmmmm...could it be???? I could transfer my small personal loan and my treadmill. Hopefully they get back to me soon. I have had perfect credit since before my BK. No lates...NOTHING!!! I read some weird stuff on creditboards about their approval process, but I'll remain hopeful.

Were you able to shorten the term of your loan or at least refi with the number of months remaining on your Cap One loan.

God to hear from you again. Keep us posted.

Got a call back today. Seems they usually don't approve anything...loans, credit card, anything...if you are in chex systems. Well, I have one small thing from my before my-bk that I paid off after my bk (setteld for less than 50 or so) for $178, even though it shows as paid. It was actually a couple of debits that came through on a closed acct after I moved and didn't get the notices. Anyway this is from 2005. She said the BK wasn't a problem. They are going to give me a call back in a few days. Hopefully I'll at least be able to refi that vehicle. Weird that such an insignificant seeming thing would come back to bite me. Oh, well maybe it will all work out and I'll keep you posted. They were really really nice and seemed to want to work with me. She wasn't complimentary on my credit history since my BK, so that made me feel very good!! I had tried to dispute off chex systems but they wouldn't remove it cause the orig amount was over 100.00. ugggghhhhh

Well I must admit I read all the post concerning cccu and decided to apply this weekend for a checking and savings. I was disapproved because at the time chexsystem was still showing accounts I had that was part of my bk. Well, on Monday I got letter from Chexsystems saying everything was removed, I didn't believe it but I called anyway and was told nothing was listed and that everything was removed. I had faxed them my bk petition a few weeks before my discharge and they sent out notices to each bank. Those accounts were well over $100 but they were removed and I now have a new checking account with Navy FCU. Funny thing is I emailed CCCU letting them know, and I also reminded them that they are supposely a Christian CU so whatever happened to "FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS"!!! Needless to say I didn't get a response from my email, and was wondering could it have been because I put a PS I forgive you at the end. LOL :-) Anyway, I don't need them and I'm excited to have NFCU since I know they have some of the best rates around and I can rebuild my credit through them. Just goes to show how no matter how Christian they are Business is still BUSINESS!!! Best of luck to you all hopefully you'll get to refi

Does anyone know which credit reporting company they use? I am in the midst of clearing all three reports of stuff that should have been dealt with years ago right up until now and I am not finished with at least one of the companies.
Thankee.
