    allowable child related expenses...

I've heard horror stories of people being told they need to get rid of their pets by BK Trustee/Judge's. I understand that there are allowable expenses. What if your child plays a competitive sport that requires some travel? like hotels?

What if a family has been on vacation in the past few months prior to filing?

I'm not in these situations, but very curious about them.

Can the Trustee say the childs sport is too expensive?

These situations are more in the realm of entertainment/recreation as opposed to childcare.

An extended vacation that ate up a lot of cash could be seen by a trustee with no sense of humor as depleting the bk estate and you may run the risk of a substantial abuse finding.

      that's what I thought.

I'm a bit concerned about a friend that is getting ready to file. they just went on a nice spring break vacation to Phoenix. and one of their children is in a very expensive sport that they have to travel for. sometimes for the weekend. sometimes they camp, but it's too cold for that right now.

I'm hoping they have been talking to their attorney. I'm getting the feeling that their attorney hasnt talked to them much about exemptions, cash on hand, etc, etc. Mine didnt either, but I always have this place!!! I'm a bit worried for them, but dont want to sound like a know-it-all or put my 2 cents in where it isnt wanted.

I know when we filed our 13 in October, we had to put down how much we spend on the kids per month, I think it was different than childcare, which we dont have
